Travon Blog - Honest US Travel Guides

Affiliate Disclosure

How Travon makes money, what an affiliate link is and why it never changes what we recommend.

Last updated November 5, 2026

Travon is free to read, and we want to be completely transparent about how we pay for it.

What is an affiliate link?

Some links on travon.blog are affiliate links. If you click one and then book a hotel, buy gear or purchase a service, the company may pay Travon Inc. a small commission. You never pay more because you used our link. The price is the same as going to the site directly.

Our promise

  • Recommendations come first. We decide what to recommend based on our research. Only after that do we check whether an affiliate program exists. Plenty of things we recommend earn us nothing.
  • No pay-to-play. We do not accept payment for positive coverage, sponsored reviews or placement in our lists.
  • We say when we were not there. If a recommendation is based on research rather than a visit, we say so.
  • Clear labels. Posts that contain affiliate links include a short note near the top.

Advertising

We also show display ads, which may be provided by Google AdSense or other networks. Advertisers do not see our articles before publication and have no influence over what we write. Ads are labeled “Advertisement”.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in line with the US Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).

Amazon Associates

If we participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, the following applies: As an Amazon Associate, Travon Inc. earns from qualifying purchases.
